Abstract: To understand the control efficiency on the brown planthopper, 10 insecticides were tested in rice through field spray. The results showed that, 3, 7 and 14 days after single spray, nitenpyram·pymetrozine got the maximum control effect of 85.88%, 96.81%, 97.78% and imidaclprid got the minimum control effect of 51.44%, 65.40%, 62.92%, respectively. While 21 days after single spray, pymetrozine mixing with chlorpyrifos got the maximum control effect of 96.81% and thiamethoxam got the minimum control effect of 50.04%. Among the tested insecticides, pymetrozine mixing with chlorpyrifos, nitenpyram·pymetrozine, dinotefuran, pymetrozine mixing with isoprocarb and pymetrozine mixing with fenobucarb got control effect above 90% ; nitenpyram was between 80%-90%; pymetrozine and thiamethoxam were between 70%-80%; imidaclprid and thiamethoxam were below 70% . It was concluded that dinotefuran, nitenpyram·pymetrozine, pymetrozine mixing with chlorpyrifos, pymetrozine mixing with isoprocarb and pymetrozine mixing with fenobucarb can effectively prevent the attack by Nilaparvata lugens in rice.
