Abstract: In order to guide farmers’reasonable application behavior, reduce pesticide safety risk, and improve the quality and safety of agricultural products, this paper analyzed the characteristics of households’pesticides application behavior and the existing problems by using 496 households’survey data from 21 villages in six provinces of eastern China. It was found out that highly toxic and even banned pesticides were still widely used in some areas of our country, and some of the pesticides application behavior was irrational. In the process of agricultural production, households paid more attention on application effect and pesticide costs than environment effect and safety of agricultural products. Therefore, put forward some measures, such as upgrading the varieties of pesticides, strengthening training and standardizing of pesticide production etc..
