Review on Application of Nanosatellite in Space Life Science Research

Abstract: The application of nanosatellite in space life science research is discussed and some novel projects are introduced, including GeneSat - 1, PbarmaSat, and O/OREOS nanosatellite. The missions and modules, initiation of biological experiment, measuring principle and data feedback are summarized. Based on the current situation of nanosatellite biological applications, some design features are generalized, such as controlling of initiation,“stasis buffer”conservation of biological samples and optical dynamic feedback of biological results, which could provide reference for the study of space Azolla cubesat development and inorbit experiment in China.
