Abstract: The seed germination and haustorium formation of Cistanche deserticola were induced by norflurazon and 2,6-dimethoxy-p-benzoquinone (2,6-DMBQ) respectively. The effects of them on peroxidase(POD), catalase(CAT) activities and reactive oxygen species(ROS) content during seed germination and haustorium formation were studied. The results showed that POD, CAT activities and ROS content significantly increased during 0-168 h treated with norflurazon. POD, CAT activities and ROS content significantly increased during 0-72 h treated with 2,6-DMBQ. The results preliminarily confirmed that the exogenous signal substances, norflurazon and 2,6-DMBQ, effected POD, CAT activities and ROS content of C. deserticola during seed germination and haustorium formation.
