Abstract: The paper aims to study a grafted breeding method of Ulmus pumila cv. ‘Yangguang Nvhai’, meanwhile, research different grafting methods which could cause the problem of the corner on grafting part. The author chose Ulmus pumila of diameter 0.6 cm as rootstock and carried out L9(33) orthogonal design test. The result showed that the optimal treatment in the experiment was using the middle of annual branches as the scion and cutting in early April; the budding method could effectively avoid the corner seedling, the survival rate was 80.2%; the cutting method could also effectively avoid the corner phenomenon by using the bud on the scion and near the interface, improve the trunk straight through degrees and ensure its high growth rate, the survival rate was 86.9%, higher than the budding.
