Abstract: In order to provide basis for the production of Medicago sativa L. in saline-alkali soil, the author assessed the effect of exogenous water-soluble vitamins (VB1, VB2, VPP, VB6, VH, VB12 and VC) on the seed germination and recovery of M. sativa under 14610 mg/L NaCl stress. The results showed that 62.5 mg/L VPP significantly increased the shoot fresh weight after the recovery germination. 1000 mg/L VB6, 500 mg/L VB12 and 1000 mg/L VC substantially promoted the germination under high salinity stress, but had no significant impact on the recovery germination after the stress was relieved. 250 mg/L VB12 significantly improved both the germination under high NaCl stress and the recovery germination, reduced the mortality rate under high NaCl stress from 19.667% to 4.667%. VB1, VB2 and VH failed to effectively alleviate the inhibitory effect of high NaCl stress on seed germination. The experiment showed that exogenous VB6, VB12 and VC could play a role in regulating the seed germination characteristic of M. sativa under high NaCl stress.
