Abstract: The paper aims to study the effects of different varieties and cultivated practices on the growth period and yield of spring potato in Penzhou Maintainous Area. Under field conditions, the contrast tests on the growth period and yield were conducted between spring potato varieties Mira and Chuanyu 56 and new varieties from various areas, and the influence of different cultivation methods on growth period of spring potato was also studied. The results showed that, taking both yield and the growth period into consideration, the new varieties had yield advantages and were proposed to be promoted in production, while Mira and Chuanyu 56 were recommended to be introduced with original seed propagation. The comparison of the flatten planting and ridge tillage, mulching and no mulching showed that mulching and ridge had obvious effect on yield increase, therefore, the best cultivation way was ridge mulching.
