Abstract: In order to understand the influence of cloud radiation feedback on climate change, total cloud amount, low cloud amount and other climatic data of five meteorological stations in eastern Hexi Corridor during 1961 to 2013 were used, temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of cloud amount and its relationship with climate factors were analyzed by climate diagnosis analysis method. The results showed that the total and low cloud amount increased from the northeast to the southwest. The annual and decadal total and low cloud amount both showed an increasing trend, the time series of the total and low cloud amount had 5-7 years and 5-6 years quasi-periodic variation, respectively, and the abrupt year was 1997 and 1987, respectively. The total and low cloud amount in each season had an increasing trend, and the peak of the total cloud amount was observed from April to June and in September, a valley was found in December; the peak of low cloud amount was observed in July, a valley was found in December to January of the following year. The total and low cloud amount had significantly positive correlation with the average temperature and precipitation, and had significantly negative correlation with daily range of temperature and average wind speed.
