Abstract: Using different panicle rice varieties as the materials, studying their production characteristics in different levels of nitrogen condition, the results were as following: the biomass of the erect panicle variety was higher than that of the curved panicle variety. The harvest index of the erect panicle variety was lower than that of the curved panicle variety. In the low nitrogen fertilizer condition, the harvest index of these two varieties were all improved, further the grain yield of curved panicle variety was higher than that of the erect panicle variety, the result is reverse in high nitrogen fertilizer condition. In the same fertilizer condition, the amount of dry matter production after heading of erect panicle variety was clearly higher than that of the curved panicle variety. In the low nitrogen fertilizer condition, the number of both variety’ spike were decreased, and the grain numbers improved, the seed setting percentage increased. Meanwhile 1000—grain weight of the primary and secondary branches was heavier than those in the high nitrogen fertilizer condition.
