Abstract: Orchidaceae is one of the largest families of monocot plants. Germplasm resources investigation, collecting and domestication have been attached importance to by all over the country. The seeds of seventeen species of orchids have been stored successfully through cryopreservation. Chromosome techniques and molecular marker techniques have been demonstrated to be powerful techniques for the study of the estimation of resources. There are a few reports about the study of genomic analysis and genetic diversities of orchidaceous plants. Hand pollination is one of the most important ways of breeding and many hybrids have been attained. The techniques of polyploid breeding and molecular marker are helpful for breeding and polyploid plants and transgenic plants have been obtained.
