Abstract: To reveal status and development law of domestic research on rice, wheat and corn under adversity stresses, advance adversity research of staple crops and ensure food security, this paper used journal papers and index data from Chinese Journals Full Text Database from 2006 to 2015 and analyzed the published papers’quantities, research strength, financial assistance and research hotspots with bibliometric methods. The number of papers related to the three staple crops was approximately the same and they all increased generally in the annual variation. The numbers of published papers from different provinces were very different. Most papers were concentrated in a few high quality journals in this field. About 88.04% papers received financial assistance. Financial assistance index had a significantly positive relationship with journal impact factors. The most widely studied adversity stress was drought. Different provinces focused on different adversity stresses, which had obviously regional characteristics. The hot research themes were“growth and development”,“genes location and expression”and“resistance exercise and exogenous substance treatment”. Domestic research of staple crops under adversity stresses had a good development momentum, and highlighted basic research and applied research.
