Effect of Different Types of Fertilizers on Sweet Potato Yield and Nitrogen Efficiency

Abstract: To select fertilizer which can increase the yield of sweet potato, the field method was tested. Under the equal inputs of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, efficiency of nitrogen fertilizer of the four different types of fertilizer (Shikefeng compound fertilizer, Turangsuo coated fertilizer, Jinzhengda coated fertilizer, Shidanli compound fertilizer) were compared. No nitrogen treatment, urea and conventional fertilization were regarded as control. The results showed that the Shikefeng compound fertilizer increased sweet potato yield significantly (p<0.05) and its yield was 1996kg/667m2, more than the conventional fertilization by 8.92%. The nitrogen use rate of Shikefeng was the highest at harvest time, pH declined the lowest. When nitrogen absorption of sweet potato was the highest, nitrogen release of Shikefeng compound fertilizer was the highest, conforming to the nitrogen absorption rule of sweet potato. So Shikefeng compound fertilizer is worthy of recommendation in sweet potato production.
