The Detection of Reactive Oxygen with Fluorescent Probes: Research Progress

Abstract: The aims are to provide references for selecting the suitable reactive oxygen species (ROS) fluorescent probes and improving the specificity and sensitivity of ROS detection. The authors introduce the principle of fluorescent probes, summarize three kinds of fluorescent probes, including dichlorodifluorofluorescein (DCDHF- DA), dihydrorhodamine 123 (DHR123) and hydroethidine (HE); discuss the characteristics of fluorescent probes and the influence factors. At last, the problems in the application of fluorescent probes and the possible solutions are proposed.
