Abstract: The paper aims to determine suitable varieties to be planted in the semi-arid area of Xing’an, to make full use of local climate resources, and study the growth and development characteristics and yield potential of different mung bean varieties. The author carried out the seeding experiment of 9 mung bean varieties and‘Brooke Lv1’planted in large area in Tuquan at the same site and the same time. The results showed that: the ≥10℃ active accumulated temperature during the growth season in the semi-arid region of Xing’an fully satisfied the demand of maturity of each mung bean variety; the two mung bean varieties ‘( Xiaominglv’and‘Changfengxiaominglv’) were infested with pests during the flowering period to the seedfilling period, and the area was up to 40%; according to the production practice for years, the final yield could be affected by the sterile grain rate≥8.5%; the sterile grain rate of‘Tianshan minglv’,‘Tianshan daminglv’ (green pearl) and‘Brooke Lv1’was 7.4%, 7.3% and 8.2%, respectively, the three varieties were suitable for local climatic condition, with strong resistance to disease and high yield potential, and could be used for large area promotion.
