Abstract: The new generation’s peasant-workers is a product of social transition of China. They are playing an important role in our city’s construction and development. However, in the traditional binary social structure, peasant-workers have suffered unequal treatment after entering cities. It has caused their alienation to the cities ideologically and psychologically, which is unfavorable to the cities’ stability and further development. Moreover, recently it is reported that the “Administrative Regulations of Transient Population” will be abolished by Beijing Municipal Government. All these indicate the significance of studying up on how to strengthen the administration of these peasant-workers, especially, on how to strength their ideological and political work. In the thesis, the author proposes that peasant-workers’ ideological and political work should be strengthened by their employers and residential communities, mass media and by improving their own qualities. Therefore, the new generation’s peasant-workers can adapt to city life as soon as possible.
