Abstract: The successive three-year wheat summer sowing test from 1999-2001 reveals that the climatic and ecological condition from August to the beginning of November in the west suburb, Jingzhou city in chinese Jianghan plain meets the meets of wheat soming. The habit of wheat sowing is spring variety. The seeds examined for sowing in different stages were not vernalized. After sowing in the field, it could emerge quickly, ear smoothly and mature. The complete breeding season was around 92-103days, which reflected the breeding character of “two short, two long”. In the test, the wheat has the following characters: it grew fast and the plant was relatively short, the panide length became shorter and the nunber of panicles were relatively small, its thousand-grain weight were quite light, the chlorophyll content in miking period was considerably less than the wheat sown in the normal season. The sowing test in different stages prores that the beginning of August in chinese Jianghan planin it the best sowing season for wheat summer breeding.
