  Effects of cultivation techniques on yields of Jumbo YANG Heng-shan WANG Guojun TAI Limin LIU Haiyu 2003, 19 (4):  19-19.  Abstract + ( 1236 )   PDF ( 213432KB )   ( 523 ) The effects of sowing time,density,irrigation and fertilization on Jumbo were studied with single-factor experiments.The results showed:Jumbo was a ideal forage crop in late sowing for rain and multiple cropping after wheat .It’s optimum sowing density was 2.00×105plant/hm2.There were higher yields and more efficiency with 75.0kg/hm2 Urea application than those of others.Compared with those of non-irrigation ,the yields of 4-time-irrigation were respectively increased by 53.3%, 66.9% in fresh forage yields of one-time-harvestand and two-time-harvest .Jumbo was suited to growing in areas with irrigation condition.

Through enhancing the row grains and the spike length and coping witch the relationship of the row numbers and the low-grain rate to the aim with the character of the shorter growth period . more row grains, higher forming grains rate and lower plant height was the important way to improve the main yield.

  Study on Summer-sown Wheat of Jianghan Plain Yu Ze-gao, Li Da-yong, Liu Zhang-yong 2003, 19 (4):  36-36.  Abstract + ( 1357 )   PDF ( 399106KB )   ( 519 ) The successive three-year wheat summer sowing test from 1999-2001 reveals that the climatic and ecological condition from August to the beginning of November in the west suburb, Jingzhou city in chinese Jianghan plain meets the meets of wheat soming. The habit of wheat sowing is spring variety. The seeds examined for sowing in different stages were not vernalized. After sowing in the field, it could emerge quickly, ear smoothly and mature. The complete breeding season was around 92-103days, which reflected the breeding character of “two short, two long”. In the test, the wheat has the following characters: it grew fast and the plant was relatively short, the panide length became shorter and the nunber of panicles were relatively small, its thousand-grain weight were quite light, the chlorophyll content in miking period was considerably less than the wheat sown in the normal season. The sowing test in different stages prores that the beginning of August in chinese Jianghan planin it the best sowing season for wheat summer breeding.

In term of deep cultivation, subsoiling had some certain negative effects on plant growth in the jointing stage, especially the depth of 20 cm cultivation reduce plant height, nodes, spread leaves and leaf area index in comparation with contrast treatment, so the combination of 120 cm interval and 30 cm depth improved leaf area index, plant height, nodes, stem diameter and reducedd height of spike, was 30cm at 120 interval during the period of 5 leaves could improve leaf area index, and increase plant height, nodes, plant stem diameter, soil water store and reduce the height of spike, and increased yield and WUE by 8.86%, 6.59%, respectively, comparaed with non-subsoiling treatment.

The traits easily affected by producing area were head rice, chalkiness and size of chalkiness.

The results showed that a larger amount of BA and less amount NAA benefit to the induction of shoots, and a less amount of BA and larger amount of NAA benefit to the induction of roots. Among them, MS+BA2.0mg/ L+ NAA0.1mg/L is the best to induce the shoots and MS+ BA0.1mg/ L+ the NAA1.0mg/ L is optimal to induce the roots, and the largest number of roots was produced in MS medium without hormones, but the roots are fine and long.

The results showed stronger seedling, hardening plantlets, carrying rooting powder, and 1: 1 of vermiculite and turfy-soil benefit to transplanting survival rate. Among the treatments, The average percentage of stronger seedling was 8.33% higher than weaker seedling, hardening plantlets 18.75% higher than not hardening plantlets, carrying rooting powder 6.25% higher than not carrying rooting powder, 1:1 of vermiculite and turfy-soil 6.25% higher than 1:2 and 14.06% higher than 1:3. To harden plantlets is best to raise transplanting survival rate. The optimal treatment are both stronger plantlets and hardening plantlets，which survived at 100%.

Using colorimetric determination of 3, 5-dinitro-salicylic acid, α-amylase was tested for the seeds treated with different concentration YSR during germination. The results were as follows: the best prevention and cure time of YSR was 2d before harvesting, inhibiting rate was 75.9%, and YSR had no side effect to seed using value. α-amylase content fallen rapidly with increasing of YSR concentration. This proved that YSR could inhibit sprouting through lowering α-amylase during germination in wheat gains.

  Eeffects of calcium and Gibberellin on Vigor of Zea mays L.seeds Chen Shi-lin,et al 2003, 19 (4):  64-64.  Abstract + ( 1106 )   PDF ( 254348KB )   ( 841 ) In the text,We used gibberellin CaCl2 and the compound of gibberellin and CaCl2 in which each counted 50 percentaye to treat Zea may L.seeds . Then we studied the effects of every treatment on the vigor of Zea mays L. seeds on germination enery, gemination percertage and simplifced vigor index, weight of dry roots and seedings and the lengths of the seedings.The resules showed that, except germination percentage, the other levels of each treatment were higher than those of the contrast. The germination energy and the simplified vigor index increased firstly and then decreased with the in crease of density. We didn’t find the effects of Ca2+ and gibberellin were additive in the enhancement of seed vigor.

The nitrogen fertilizer application at jointing stage more ensured the rate of turning into ears and improved the number of filled grains and also had close relation to the highest milky rate as well as the appearance time of the highest milky rate.Therefore,it was more appropriate that the upland rice variety was provided with the nitrogen fertilizers at jointing stage.

The DSS used such oxygen-enrichment principles and ways as liquid-drop, liquid-flow, root-revealed and root-wet, etc. Checked by tomato planting experiments, using the DSS would increase plant respective growth rate, accelerate leaves and stem burls to grow, strength the activity of roots and improve the growth and development of the root system. Adding methyl-cellulose, the prevention and cure effects increase by increasing carbon-nitrogen ratio and prevented the germination of pathogenic spores. The results indicated,During the storage the phenol compounds were synthesized in Cuiguan pears at first ,then they decreased. The activity of polyphenol oxidase(PPO) took on an increase firstly, then fell down. Following the decrease of phenol compounds, the browning reaction took place. The oxidization of phenol compounds promoted by PPO was considered the cause. The cold storage(0℃)could delay the senescence、softening and browing.

In this region there are 14.90millions m3 agriculture water resources that is 93.35percent of the tote water resources, and there are 6.53millions m3 soil water resources that is an important source of recovering and developing ecosystem and agriculture production such as dry－planters, meadows, woodless etc . The paper forwards some plans and steps of Sustainable using of agriculture water resources. It adores to the present state and the problems of exploiting and using the water resources of this region.
