Abstract: The combining abilities and their relationships among 15 quantitative characters of 36 crosses, which were obtained from 9 main inbred lines in Henan, were analyzed by Griffing Ⅳ design. The results showed: <1> There were significant difference among combining ability of nine inbred lines in 14 characters with kernel rate exception.<2> There were significant relationship between the GCA of grain length 、plant height and grain yield per plant.<3>The sequence of the utilization potential of inbred lines was: Chang 7-2>Luo 06 >Ji 533 > Zheng 22 > Yu 8701> Zhong 72>868>Luo 1544 >Zheng 58. <4> The utilization value of corn inbred lines may be measured by it’s total combining ability effect(TCA′=gi+ssi.),the TCA′ is a useful comprehensive index for analysis on combining ability of inbred lines. Studies on the utilization and improvement of nine inbred lines in the future were discussed
