Abstract: RNA interference (RNAi) is a post-transcriptional gene-silencing phenomenon induced by double-stranded RNA. It turns out to be conserved among eukaryotes and can be compared to the immune system. With further study on the molecular mechanism, RNAi will play even important role in plant gene function analysis, genetic improvement of crop plants and antiviral research.
