Powdery mildew is one of the most serious diseases of common wheat world-wide. Breeding for resistant cultivars has proved to be an economical, effective and environmentally safe method to control this disease. Up to now, 32 gene loci (Pm1~Pm32) for resistance to powdery mildew has been identified and located on different chromosome. In this paper, the chromosome location, the resource and utilization of wheat powdery mildew resistant genes were reviewed. At the same time, the countermeasure of control the powdery mildew in wheat was discussed.
