Abstract: The paper probed into the impact of cold storage time, gibberellic acid concentration and different substrates to speeding up sterile germination by using four varieties of Rosa multiflora seed (R.multiflora f.carnea,R.multiflora ‘inermis No.3’, R.multiflora ‘inermis No.4’and R.multiflora ‘inermis No.11’).According to the tests, we find that:(1)cold storage time is the most important factor for seed germination; (2)the germination of three inermis varieties can be up to 90 to 100 percent on 10 to 15 days cold storage and 0.05 to 0.1 mg/L gibberellic acid concentration, but the maximal germination of R.multiflora f.carnea was just at 73 percent; (3)on substrates, the sand is more suit for germination than the vermiculite.
