Response of Hyperaccumulator Ryegrass(Loliurn perenne L.) to Cadmium, Zinc and their combined pollution

Abstract: Pot experiments (root rag method) were carried out to investigate the influence of Cadmium, Zinc and their combined pollution on plant growth, chlorophyll concentration, antioxidation enzyme activity, Zn2+ and Cd2+ accumulation in ryegrass(Loliurn perenne L.). The results showed that the inhibition of Cadmium, Zinc and their combined pollution to the plant growth was observed. Chlorophyll concentrations decreased, and activities of POD and SOD were increased by Cadmium, Zinc and their combined pollution. After taken by ryegrass, Zn2+ and Cd2+ were distributed mainly in shoot. The maximums of activities of shoot POD, SOD, and absorption of Zn2+ and Cd2+ were found at Cadmium and Zinc combined pollution treatment, its Zn2+ and Cd2+ concentrations in shoot were 3108.72, 73.97 mg/kg, respectively.
