Abstract: To search for an insecticide that the controlling effect is the same as ethoprophos, but more economical, and safer than ethoprophos against Orseolia oryzae Wood Maspn, eight kinds of insecticides and their mixture were tested by applying toxic soil in the field. The results showed that, 20 days after single application, ethoprophos (1800 g ai/hm2) and triazophos (1500g) were the best with effect more than 97%, followed by abamectin (21.6g) and imidacloprid (120g) with effect more than 92%, and then fipronil (45g),chlorpyrifos (1440g) and cyromazine (840g) with effect between 84%~90%, while the insecticide monosultap ((2700g) was only 52.5% effective. The results also indicated that when applying the mixture of ethoprophos (900g)+triazophos (750g), ethoprophos (600g)+triazophos (1050g), or ethoprophos (600g)+abamectin (15.2g), the controlling effect was 100%. It was concluded that triazophos at the dosage above 1500g can completely prevent the attack by Orseolia oryzae Wood Maspn.
