Advancement of U-box Protein Structure and Function

Abstract

Abstract: The ubiquitin proteolytic system is an important selective proteolytic system of the celler proteolytic systems, a number of them were identified as a ubiquitin chain assembly factor-E4. The U-box protein is a new family ubiquitin-protein ligase(E3), which determine the substrate specificity of ubiquitination. The U-box is a domain of 70 amino acids that is highly conserved among yeast, plant and animals, but more U-box proteins were found in plants than in animals. This protein play an important role in the degradation of cellular abnormal proteins and protein quality control, functional study will be important step toward better understanding for disease genesis and control mechanisms.
