Abstract: Using the seeds of wild Sanguisorba officinalis as experiment materials, the germination characteristic was studied in this paper. The result shows that: The seeds are about 2.548mm long, oblate, and are yellow-gray or brown-black. The weight is 2.471g per thousand-granule. The dormant character of the seeds is forcing dormancy caused by hard seed vessels. The dormancy could be broken down by 98% concentrated sulfuric acid. The most appropriate time is 30min. The highest germination rate is 85.33%. The optimum germination temperature is 20℃. When the seeds were soaked in 200mg/L GA the germination rate could reach to 86.67%.
