Abstract: Agronomic characters play a important role in improving breed of wheat。The agronomic characters of 30 Xinjiang spring wheat were evaluated by using the statistical methods of simple and partial correlation analysis ,multiple stepwise regression and path analysis in order to provide helpful information for the genetic improvement of wheat1。We found that the plant height of most landraces was too high to be used for breeding program and the 1000-grain weight and grain weight per plant of them were lower, with the mean of 30.04 g and 8.84 g, respectively. 74% variation of grain weight per plant could be explained by the multiple regression equations Y = 0.6139 + 0.02X3 + 1.07 X4 +0.42 X5. So how to correspond every agronomic character should regard as important criteria of selecting in high yield breeding.
