Abstract: A root box experiment was conducted to investigate effects of different root barriers and Mn fertilizer in soil on Mn nutrition of wheat in wheat/oat intercropping system. Results show that application Mn feitilizer in soil led to significantly higher shoot dry weight and Mn uptake of wheat compared with the check. Shoot dry weight, Mn concentration and Mn uptake of wheat were no obviously effect by wheat/oat different root barriers. The abilities which uptake and activation soil Mn of different crop cultivars was different, namely oat＞wheat, 9023＞Chuanmai28, Bayou4＞Bayou3. But Mn nutrition of wheat was not improved by intercropping with oat, the possible reason was plentiful plants leading to lacking space of root growth, the essential reason will be farther research.
