Abstract: On the hill dry land of the west of Henan province, China, little precipitation, drought and barren soil, a small quantity of fertilizer application, and serious water loss resulted in low and changeful yields of wheat plants. Combinations of the above ecological conditions with characteristics of wheat plants, we proposed some ways to raise wheat yields in this region. The planting ways of “four water and one early” included deep plough to hold rainwater, more fertilizer application to supple water, more seeds to save water, good mange to decrease water loss. And the seeding ways were mainly: ditching seeds in the field, the plastic-mulching cultivation and drought-resistant sowing.
