Abstract: Process of western urbanization is very slow; one important reason is that the Competition power of western City is weak. Therefore, Competition power of western City and sufficiently bring into play the driving and radiation role of key city are one important measure that promote western urbanization. Raise Competition power of western city should be paid attention to some aspect: establishing new viewpoint according with needs of development; strengthening cultivation of key city contesting power; raising Competition power of city properties and enterprises; strengthening development and management of human resources; grasping chance and being bold in innovation, attracting business and investment, harnessing ecology environment of city area and building ecological city.
