Abstract:

Leaf epidermis of 6 species in Peucedanum from China were examined under light microscopy. They are reported for the first time. The microscopic observation showed that: imperatorin (P.praeruptori) stomatal only lies under the skin, red imperatorin (P.rubricaule), Songpan imperatorin (P.songpanens), long imperatorin (P.turgeniifolii) Dianxi imperatorin (P.delavayi) and the sharp thorns imperatorin (P.elegans) leaves both sides epidermal stomata; Stomatal types are irregular in shape; upper and lower epidermal cell shape or irregular polygons; anticlinal walls pattern can be divided into nearly straight, wavy shallow and deep wavy. Stomatal density and stomatal index is the difference between the species. Therefore, the type of crystals in epidermal cells and some distinct characters varies obviously with species, in particular among species allies.
