Abstract:

【OBJECTIVE】To determine the allelopathic activities of different organs of 16 species garden plants on seedlings of lettuce and Amaranthus retroflexus L.. 【METHOD】Method of grinded plant tissue powder mixed with agar (PPA) was employed. 【RESULTS】The growth of two receptor plants seedlings were remarkably inhibited by the powers of all plant organs, the inhibitory rates on growth of radicles were higher than that on hypocotyls at 10 g?L-1 concentration. Among all the plant organs, the shoots of Prunus persica Batsch., the roots of Morus alba L., the leaves of Beiberis thunbesgii DC. vas. atropurpurea Chenanet and Iris tectorum Maxim, the frults of Lonicera maackii Rupr. Maxim. and the flowers of Koelreuteria bipinnata var.integrifolia showed the more high activities. 【CONCLUSION】The results showed that above plant organs have high allelopathic activities.
