Abstract:

Field experiment was carried out to study the effects of different chlorine application rate on growth, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco in Yuxi city, Yunnan province. The results showed that chlorine application level was positively correlated with the contents of K+(P<0.05), Cl-, negatively with the ratio of K2O/Cl(P<0.05). When chlorine application level ranged between 0 kg/hm2 and 112.50 kg/hm2, which could increase yield, output value and ratio of first- and middle grade of leaves. When chlorine application level was 67.50 kg/hm2, the highest yield, output value and proportion of middle and superior grade of leaves could be gotten. The differences of output value between 67.50Cl kg/hm2 and CK was statistically significant(P<0.05). The chemical component contents of tobacco leaves of 22.50 Cl kg/hm2 treatment was close to the requirements for high-quality tobacco, and the coordinatability among different chemical components of which was better than other chlorine treatments. Comprehensively considering agronomic characters, economic characters and quality, the optimum Cl application level should be 22.50~67.50 kg/hm2 for high-quality flue-cured tobacco growth in Yuxi city, Yunnan province.
