Abstract: The effects of different storage temperature and different concentration of sucrose were studied on Malus sieversii pollen vitality in Ili, Xinjiang. The results indicated that the average germination of the pollen which was stored in room temperature within 3 days was 58%. Pollen vitality decreased obviously after 5 days. Pollen could hardly germinate after 30 days. The pollen which was stored in 4℃ within 10 days was fairly good. It still had certain pollen vitality after 130 days. Sucrose could promote germination obviously. The concentration which is 15% of sucrose was better than others. Individual differences among the pollen vitality were found.
