Abstract: Abstract: SSR ( Simple Sequence Repeat) is one kinds of markers developed on the basis of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR)，with the advantages of rich content，high polymorphism， codominant and so on.It has been extensively applicated in the research fields of animal，plant and so on.Advances and applications of SSR marker technology in cotton genetics and breeding were introduced in this paper.
