Abstract:

Antifungal and antibacterial activity of endophytic fungi of Tripterygiun wilfordii Hook was investigated based on the isolation of strains. The results indicated that 22 different morphotype strains were obtained from the roots, stalks and leaves. Endophytic fungi lived widely in the body of T. wilfordii. The strains isolated from stalk were more than those from roots and leaves. Most of strains isolated were found to have some antibacterial or antifungal activity. The extract from mycelia showed the more significant inhibition activity than that of the fermentation broth. The endophytic fungi exhibited a greater inhibition on pathogenic fungi in comparison with pathogenic bacteria.
