Study on Recycling of Plant Ash in Ancient Chinese Medicine

Abstract:

Plant ash was one of the most important byproducts in ancient life,which had a processing from waste to medical treasure,especially in Ming and Qing dynasty,the plant ash had been used in numerous aspects of medcine.And some reusing methods have been following its first invention.Few systematic studies have been focused on the utilization of plant ash in ancient life. By means of documentary, this article reveals how ancient people used plant ash in Chinese traditional medicine. Another contribution of the research is to reveal the relationship between plant-ash recycling and ancient ecological agriculture, and go further to prove the argument of Chinese ancient recycling economy.
