Abstract:

Abstract: Both hardwood and greenwood Shoots from four landscape plants which were Gardenia jasminoides, Var.radicana Makino, Serissa japonica, Mssaenda pubescens of Rubiaceae were taken as the experimental materials for the research of the water cutting propagation in this experiment. The results showed that (1) Serissa japonica rooted the most easily among four kind of plants and Its rooting percentage was 96%. The rooting percentage of Var.radicana Makino was 76% and rooted more easily than Serissa japonica and Mssaenda pubescens.（2）The rooting time of Serissa japonica was shorter and more concentrate than Var.radicana Makino. But the rooting time of Gardenia jasminoides and Mssaenda pubescens was longer and less concentrate than Var.radicana Makino.（3）There was difference of the rooting percentage from hardwood and greenwood Shoots of the same plant.（4）The rooting number and the root length of the hardwood shoots was higher than the greenwood shoots for the four plants.
