The changes of morphine content in opium poppy under different irrigation

Abstract:

This paper discusses the morphine content difference in main poppy organs under different growth stages through irrigation treatments .The results showed that , at winter irrigation treatments, the morphine increase with the irrigation frequency during the period of pre- florescence, after florescence ,continuous irrigation can sharp decrease the morphine content in poppy shells . At free winter irrigation area ,just contrary , the appropriate irrigation frequency and irrigation amount increasing can significantly improve the morphine content in poppy shells in later period .
