Abstract:
Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a destructive disease of wheat in warm and humid wheat growing areas of the world, especially in China, and causes losses in grain yield and quality. Breeding for FHB resistance has been difficult, due to the multiple components of resistance, limited understanding of the genetic basis of the various forms of resistance, genotype and environment interaction, and the high cost of phenotyping. For the contradiction between high resistance and high yield traits, and the complex of the inheritable mechanisms of resistance,it is still a worldwide hard nut to crack. In order to foster and promote the resistance variety to scab, and solve its destroy in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and increase the wheat production. In this paper, combining the high-yield breeding and the scab breeding route, and utilizing the view of "comprehensive co-ordination point trait", yangmai 18 has been breed and shows the fine comprehensive agriculture traits in the multi-year and multi-place, and performance both high and stable yield and resistance (MR-R) to wheat scab in the production of large-scale application. Incubation and development of the species realize initially the objectives of wheat breeding for scab resistance.
