Abstract:

China's rice cross-breeding research began in the late 20th century. In the next 20 years, China's rice breeders carried out the systematic studies on natural cross rate, parent selection, cross fertility, cross technology, cross descent's processing and conducted cross breeding tests. In 1933, China's breeders bred the first cross rice, Zhongshan No.1, and these opened a new era in rice breeding in China.
