Abstract:

In order to reveal the temporal spatial variation of per unit area grain yield and its causes in Sichuan province. Based on the statistical date of 21 cities (states, districts) in Sichuan province, temporal spatial variation of per unit area grain yield and its causes from 1988 to 2008 were discussed by using statistical analysis and gray correlation analysis. The results indicated that: (1) The average of per unit area grain yield in Sichuan province was higher than the national average, and the per unit area grain yield in cities showed increasing trend by and large. (2) The regional differences were very obvious in variation of per unit area grain yield among the cities. The highest was Deyang, and the lowest was Ganzi, the former was 2.5 times as the latter. However, the gap among the cities was gradually reduced. (3) The per unit area grain yield of more than half of cities increased significantly and except Ziyang, the per unit area grain yield in other cities rose slightly. (4) Gray correlation analysis showed that: the most important factors affecting variation of per unit area grain yield were total consumption of fertilizer, the agricultural production prices. It was an important method to improve per unit area grain yield, exploit potentials by increasing the material input of agricultural production, perfecting the agricultural infrastructure and improving low-yield fields for the regional food security.
