Abstract:

Nitrogen is one of the limiting factors for growth and development in crop. Glutamine synthetase (GS) plays a key role in nitrogen metabolism in higher plants and is a key enzyme during this process. This paper introduced the structure function and distribution of GS in higher plants. Furthermore, the progress in molecular biology and bioinformatics was summarized briefly.
