Abstract: The result of field experiment by means of transplanting seedling ages showed that rice seedlings were transplanted from 3 to 8 seedling ages, among which 4 seedling age treatment can obtain the highest grain yield: 10374kg/hm2 , its grain yield is 11 percent higher than the treatment of 8 seedling age. According to the results of analysis variance, the difference among 3~6 seedling age’s treatments isn’t distinct, while their grain yields of all of these treatment are evidently higher than the treatment of 8-seedling age. The data of the grain quality test indicated chalky grain rate, chalkiness are greatly influenced by transplanting seedling ages, however appropriate transplanting seedling ages can remarkably decrease chalky grain rate, chalkiness. The brown rice, milled rice, head rice and protein content can be increased while amylase can be lowered if seedlings were transplanted at appropriate ages which is also beneficial to boost grain yield and improve grain quality.
