Abstract: The purpose of this study is to clarify the status quo of Chinese fishery scientific journals so to find out some countermeasures in the development of fishery scientific journal’s internationalization. Eight main scientific journals in fishery research are used, which were all covered in the CHINESE S&T JOURNAL CITATION REPORTS (2005). The Impact Factors and Total Cites of them were analyzed and compared with those of the 1608 journals covered in the CSTJCR (2005). The results showed that the average Impact Factors of the eight journals was 0.353, which was lower than that of 1608 journals’ average in CSTJCR (2005). And the Total Cites had the same situation. But the average funded article ratio of the eight journals (0.57) was higher than the total average ratio of the 1608 journals’ (0.41), which indicated that the government has been increasingly funded fishery scientific research. However, the articles in the eight journals produced from international collaborative projects are few, of which the ratio of the total articles was just 0.011. According to the participation of the eight journals in international retrieval systems, most of them have joined more than five. So we can say there is some great potentiality for the fishery scientific journals to make progress in international development, but it takes time. So they should focus on domestic development at present and care overseas development; gradually enlarge the affecting range in the world.
