Effect of Agricultural Technical Training on Pesticide Usage Under Heterogeneity: A Study Based on the Propensity Score Matching Method

摘要: 近年来我国农药使用量不断攀高,单位面积农药使用量远高于发达国家,农药的不当使用不仅会破坏农业生态环境,也会影响农产品质量安全。为了引导农户合理使用农药,控制农药用量,基于山东省蔬菜主产区2015年345份菜农调查数据,在考虑样本异质性的基础上,使用倾向得分匹配方法,测算农业技术培训对农户农药使用量的净效应。结果表明:技术培训能够有效地引导农户合理施药,对农户农药支出减少的净效应为17.35%~19.72%。

Abstract: Chinese pesticide usage is rapidly rising in recent years, pesticide usage of unit area is far higher than that of developed countries, and improper use of pesticide will not only destroy agricultural ecological environment but also affect the quality and safety of agricultural products. To guide farmers to make reasonable pesticide usage, based on the investigation data of 345 farmers in vegetable producing areas of Shangdong Province in 2015, and considered the heterogeneity between samples, net effect of agricultural technical training on pesticide usage was estimated by propensity score matching method. The results showed that technical training could effectively guide farmers in reasonable pesticide usage with a pesticide usage reduction of 17.35%-19.72%.
