Abstract:

Different antiviral formulations for virus diseases of radix pseudostellariae were formed, in which No.1 and No.3 compounds were based on traditional Chinese medicine prescription theory, and the others were based on the superposition of medicinal plant chemical components. The plots of radix pseudostellariae cultivated for 2 years in succession were selected for complete block experiment. The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effects of different treatments on virus control effect, yield and quality of radix pseudostellariae in field. The results indicated that the virus disease incidence of No.1 compounds treatment was 63.37% lower than that of the control group (P<0.01), and the disease index was 90.61% lower than control group, with the highest control effect (90.63%, P<0.01), while the virus control effect of the other 4 treatments were all higher than 80%. When the virus disease index was above grade 5, No.1 compounds treatment could prevent the spread of the virus after one application. After three applications, the leaves of infected radix pseudostellariae could be recovered. After five applications, leaf spots and symptoms of infection completely disappeared with bright color, and the plants returned to normal growth. No.1 and No.3 compounds treatment increased the yield significantly, by 197% and 159% compared with that of the control (P<0.01). The yield of other treatments was 68%, 69% and 68% (P<0.01) higher than that of the control, respectively. No.1 and No.3 compounds treatment could also increase the contents of total polysaccharide and cyclic peptide B of radix pseudostellariae. The total polysaccharide content of No.1 compounds treatment was the highest (14%), and the content of cyclic peptide B of No.3 compounds treatment was the highest (11%). In a word, No.1 compounds treatment has significant effects on preventing and controlling viral diseases thus improving yield and quality, which can be selected for the next round of test. Formulation based on traditional Chinese medicine prescription theory works better than formulation based on superposition of medicinal plant chemical components, especially on improving the quality of medicinal materials. The study could provide an organic multi-effect measure to control the virus disease and recover the infected plants of radix pseudostellariae.
