Abstract: In the implement of the six projects and the management of the forest production, the measurement of the forest compartment area is an important job, however, the traditional method is time-consuming, strenuous and low precision. By the special program measurement of the modern surveying instrument -the total station, the factual area of the irregular topography can be measured and it bears simple, quick, and high precision. Because the method can avoid the influence of the topography, it adopts the measurement of the forest compartment. At the same time the precision can reach 1 to 497. It promotes the modern forest production management, the project implement and the scientific research.
