Abstract: In order to select quality Burley tobacco varieties, which were appropriate for planting at Baoshan, the field comparison test of 6 introduced varieties were conducted and their agricultural and economic character, disease resistance were analyzed. The agricultural character results showed that the plant height of 5 varieties was higher than that of CK. The leaf number of all the varieties was lower than that of CK, and that of the KY8959 was the highest and Ky908 was the lowest. The growing stage of all varieties had no significant different, which were middle-late maturing variety. The resistance date indicated that disease incidence of Va1061, KY8959, TN90 of the tobacco mosaic virus and tobacco black shank disease was lower than that of CK, and the disease incidence of brown spot of Va1061, KY8959, TN90 was higher. The specific leaf gravity of KY907 was the heaviest in all the lower leaf of varieties, which was 3.421mg/cm2. The specific leaf gravity of KY8959 was the heaviest in all the cutters, upper leaf of varieties, which was respectively 4.427 mg/cm2、7.645mg/cm2. The average specific leaf gravity of Ky8959 was the heaviest. The yield of KY908 was the highest, and that of CK and KY8959 was second. The output value of CK was the highest, and that of KY907 was second, and the first-class tobacco proportion of TN90 was the highest. TN90, KY8959 had better total characteristics, so they were considered primarily to be quality Burley tobacco varieties, which appropriated for planting in Baoshan.
