Abstract: On the basis of insect-resistant cotton literatures collected by the China Journal Full-text Database (1990—2007), statistic analysis is done on data volume of insect-resistant cotton researches and the year distribution of periodical categories, core authors and their regional distribution, authors’ collaboration degree, periodical that published the papers, the subject, etc. by bibliometric method. The result showed that the gross volume of literatures was 2042 papers and the number of onymous literatures was 1964. The primary authors were 1221 and the total of periodical that published the papers was 221. 24 core authors and 4 core journals was confirmed. This paper has disclosed the characteristics of research on the insect-resistant cotton by analysis of the Chinese research status on insect-resistant cotton. It has provided reference basis for research on insect-resistant cotton information communication.
