Investigation and Research on the Infection Rate of Citrus tristeza virus for Major Production Regions of Gannan’s Navel Oranges

Abstract:

Jiangxi Gannan was one of the most suited region to grow navel oranges, and became the largest orange-producing areas in the world, but the infection rate of Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) of Gannan region were still have been utterly unknown so far. This study collected 1498 citrus samples from 14 major production regions of Gannan’s navel oranges, of which 673 samples were detected CTV-positive by direct tissue blot immuno-assay (DTBIA) and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), the infection rate reached 44.9%. The results showed that the citrus tristeza was seriously danger to the production regions of Gannan’s navel oranges, and it was the necessity for further enhance inspection and quarantine measures to guarantee security of Gannan’s navel oranges.
